Structured Wiring

Structured wiring is the backbone of most home technology solutions. AVS HD provides structured wiring to connect multiple computers within a home or to provide homeowners the ability to view different satellite channels on multiple TVs, monitor security cameras or provide an infrastructure for future sophisticated appliances and communication within a home.

A structured wiring package uses high-speed cabling and a distribution hub to network electronic devices inside the home. In all structured wiring installations, AVS HD uses two runs of RG6 coaxial cable and two runs of CAT5 cable for each multimedia drop.

AVS HD offers two basic structured wiring solutions: a Media Management Center (MMC) or a Network Distribution Box. The MMC offers the most flexibility, expandability, and functionality in a home. Usually installed in the basement, the MMC serves as a distribution hub and provides a central location for audio, video, telephone data cabling, and electronic components to be used throughout the home. The MMC consists of a commercial-grade rack which can be populated by equipment such as: stereo receivers, satellite receivers, DVD players, CD players, rack-mountable computers, servers, as well as other components.

AVS HD also installs Leviton and On-Q Technologies’ home wiring packages. Both packages provide a Network Distribution Box with modules for telephone, video, and LAN distribution.
